Configure phone numbers
Connect a Twilio account and manage SMS-enabled phone numbers so Servinix can send and receive text messages on your behalf.Before you start
- You must have an Admin role.
- Go to Settings → Phone Numbers.
- The page has two tabs: Your Phone Numbers and Text Messaging.
Steps
Create or connect a Twilio account
- On the Your Phone Numbers tab, click Create Twilio Account.
- In the wizard that opens, choose one of the following:
- Create a new Twilio account — Servinix provisions an account on your behalf.
- Connect an existing Twilio account — Provide your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token.
- Complete the prompts and confirm.
Add a phone number
- After connecting Twilio, use the Your Phone Numbers tab to browse and purchase available numbers.
- Select a local, toll-free, or short-code number as appropriate for your messaging use case.
Register for A2P SMS (Text Messaging tab)
To send SMS to customers in the US, carriers require A2P 10DLC registration.- Open the Text Messaging tab.
- Follow the registration wizard to submit your brand and campaign information.
- Wait for carrier approval (typically 2–5 business days).
Note: The portal showed “A2P registration not found for tenant” on the dev environment, indicating that registration had not yet been completed for that account. Complete A2P registration before sending bulk SMS.
Result / verify
- Your Phone Numbers tab lists at least one active number.
- Text Messaging tab shows your A2P registration status.
- SMS toggles in Settings → Customer Portal fire correctly once registration is complete.
Troubleshooting
- “Twilio account not found for tenant” — You have not yet connected a Twilio account. Click Create Twilio Account to begin.
- A2P registration rejected — Review the campaign description and use-case category, then resubmit. Carrier rejections often relate to missing or vague campaign information.
