Manage unassigned jobs

Work through the unassigned job queue on the dispatch pool to make sure every open job has a technician assigned before the day begins.

Before you start

  • You must have Dispatcher or Admin role.
  • Jobs enter the unassigned pool when they are created without a technician assignment, or when a previously assigned technician is removed.
  • Make sure technicians are active in Settings → Users before attempting to assign them.

Steps

From the portal

  1. In the portal left navigation, click Jobs (or Dispatch) to open the activity board.
  2. Filter the board by Unassigned status (or look for the unassigned column in your board layout).
  3. Click a job to open its detail panel.
  4. In the Assigned to field, select a technician from the dropdown. The dropdown shows active technicians.
  5. Set or confirm the Scheduled date and time if not already set.
  6. Click Save to assign the job. The job moves out of the unassigned pool and into the technician’s schedule.

From the mobile app (dispatcher role)

  1. Open the Servinix app and navigate to the Fleet section.
  2. Tap Unassigned jobs to open the dispatch pool screen.
  3. The screen title reads Dispatch pool and lists all unassigned jobs. Each card shows:
    • Job title and priority badge (ASAP in red or Standard in grey)
    • Job ID and service location
    • A Suggested row with technician avatars the system recommends based on proximity and skills
  4. Review the job details and priority. ASAP jobs should be dispatched first.
  5. Tap a technician avatar under Suggested to open the Confirm reassignment screen.
  6. On the confirmation screen, review the job (title, ID, location) and the technician (name, unit code, skills).
  7. Read the note: “The technician will be notified and the job will move out of the unassigned pool.”
  8. Tap Confirm reassignment. The job is removed from the dispatch pool and added to the technician’s schedule.

Result / verify

After assignment, the job no longer appears in the unassigned pool. In the portal activity board, the job row shows the assigned technician. The technician sees the job in their Schedule tab in the mobile app.

Troubleshooting

No suggested technicians appear for a job. The system could not find a qualified, available technician. Check technician availability and ensure skills are configured in Settings → Skills & Certifications. Job reappears in the unassigned pool after assignment. This may happen if the technician account was deactivated immediately after assignment or if the assignment failed to save. Reload the board and try again.
