Receive and inspect your device shipment

Step 2 of 6 — Receive and inspect your shipment When your DataLogger package arrives from Danlaw, inspect the contents immediately to confirm everything is correct and undamaged before you proceed to installation.

Before you start

  • Have your order confirmation on hand so you can verify the quantity and cable types against what was shipped.
  • Inspect the outer packaging before opening. Note any visible damage for your records.

Steps

  1. Open the outer shipping box. Remove all contents and lay them out.
  2. Verify the DataLogger device(s) are present — one device per vehicle ordered.
  3. Check for cables matching the vehicle classes you specified:
    • Light-duty orders (Class 1–3): no additional cable; the device plugs directly into the OBDII port.
    • Medium-duty or heavy-duty orders (Class 4–6 or 7–8): a 6-pin or 9-pin cable should be included for each applicable vehicle.
  4. Confirm the cable connector type matches your vehicle’s port. Heavy-duty cables ship as either 6-pin, 9-pin Type 1 (black connector), or 9-pin Type 2 (green connector).
  5. Check for any installation labels or documentation included in the box.
  6. Inspect each device and cable for physical damage: cracked housing, bent pins, or damaged connectors.
  7. Count the devices. Confirm the count matches your order.

Result / verify

All devices and cables are present, undamaged, and match the quantity and types specified in your order. You are ready to proceed to installation.

Troubleshooting

  • Missing items or wrong cable type: Contact Servinix support immediately. Do not proceed with installation using an incorrect cable.

  • Device count does not match order: Contact your Servinix account representative to resolve the discrepancy before installing any devices.
  • Need to return a device: See Ship back your device for the RMA return process. Danlaw will send a prepaid shipment label once an RMA is initiated.
