Estimate templates

Create reusable estimate templates to pre-populate line items for common job types, so your team can quote faster without re-entering the same services each time.

Before you start

  • Templates are created and managed from the Estimates page in the portal.
  • You need items in your pricebook, or you can add custom line items to a template.
  • Only users with access to Estimates can create or apply templates.

Create a template

  1. Go to Estimates in the left navigation.
  2. Select Estimate Templates near the top of the page.
  3. Select Create Template (or the equivalent add action for your account).
  4. Give the template a name that describes the job type — for example, “Standard HVAC tune-up” or “Drain cleaning service.”
  5. Add line items the same way you would in a regular estimate: use Add from pricebook or Add custom item.
  6. Set quantities and prices for each item.
  7. Optionally add a default discount under Adjustments.
  8. Save the template.

Apply a template to a new estimate

  1. Go to Estimates and select Create Estimate.
  2. In the estimate builder, look for the option to start from a template and select it.
  3. Choose the template from the list.
  4. The template’s line items load into the estimate. Adjust quantities, add or remove items, and change the customer as needed.
  5. Select Save & review when done.

Result / verify

The new estimate opens in Draft status with the template’s line items already filled in. The template itself is not modified when you create an estimate from it.

Troubleshooting

  • Template does not appear in the list — check that it was saved and is not filtered out. Reload the page if the list appears stale.
  • Line items are missing prices — if the pricebook items used in a template have been deactivated or deleted, their prices may not load. Review the template and re-add the items.
