# Enable GPS Tracking

> Add the GPS Tracking module to an existing Servinix account, including plan upgrade, device fulfillment via Danlaw, and where to configure your fleet.

# Enable GPS Tracking

Add the GPS Tracking module to your Servinix account so you can see live vehicle locations, track trips, and monitor driver behavior. Enabling GPS Tracking is a two-part process: activating the module on your account, then ordering and installing a DataLogger device for each vehicle.

## Before you start

* You must be an account admin to enable modules.
* GPS Tracking requires a compatible subscription plan. If the module is not available in Settings, contact [Servinix support](/contact-support/contacting-servinix-support/how-to-contact-support) to confirm your plan includes it.
* Each vehicle that will be tracked needs a Danlaw DataLogger device. You order devices through Servinix after the module is enabled.

## Steps

### Part 1 — Activate the GPS Tracking module

1. Sign in to the Servinix portal at `web.servinix.com`.

2. In the left sidebar, click **Settings**.

3. Under **Billing & Pricing**, click **Account**.

4. Locate the **GPS Tracking** add-on and follow the prompts to activate it for your plan.

   Note for support: The exact in-portal activation flow is subject to change as billing module UI is finalized. If the customer cannot locate an activation toggle, escalate to confirm entitlement is set at the tenant level.

5. After activation, **Fleet**, **Resources**, and **Live** appear in the left sidebar navigation.

### Part 2 — Order your DataLogger devices

GPS data only flows once a DataLogger is installed in a vehicle. After the module is active:

1. See [Order your DataLogger device](/gps-tracking/device-setup/order-your-datalogger-device) to enroll in the Servinix Telematics Program and get devices shipped to you.
2. Once devices arrive, follow the installation guide for your vehicle class:
   * Light-duty (Class 1–3): [Install DataLogger on a light-duty vehicle](/gps-tracking/device-setup/install-datalogger-light-duty-vehicle)
   * Medium-duty (Class 4–6): [Install DataLogger on a medium-duty vehicle](/gps-tracking/device-setup/install-datalogger-medium-duty-vehicle)
   * Heavy-duty (Class 7–8): [Install DataLogger on a heavy-duty vehicle](/gps-tracking/device-setup/install-datalogger-heavy-duty-vehicle)
3. After installation, confirm the device is reporting: [Verify device connection](/gps-tracking/device-setup/verify-device-connection).

## Result / verify

Once the module is active and at least one device is installed and reporting:

* The **Live** map at `/live` shows your vehicle's position in real time.
* The **Fleet** page at `/fleet` shows the Fleet Intelligence dashboard with safety scores, active alerts, and diagnostics.
* The **Resources** page at `/fleet/resources` lists all registered vehicles and their current device health.

## Troubleshooting

* **Fleet/Live not appearing in sidebar after activation:** Clear your browser cache and refresh. If still missing, sign out and back in. Contact support if the issue persists.
* **Device installed but no data showing:** See [Device not reporting data](/gps-tracking/gps-troubleshooting/device-not-reporting).
