# Task templates overview

# Task templates overview

Task templates let you define a standard checklist of tasks once and reuse it across many jobs, so every technician follows the same steps every time.

## What a task template is

A task template is a saved, named list of tasks — the individual steps a technician must complete during a job. The Task Templates page describes them as tools for "consistent field execution." Once a template is created and set to active, it can be attached to jobs so the full checklist appears in the mobile app when a technician opens that job.

Templates are managed from the **Task Templates** page (under Management in the left navigation). The page header reads: "Create and manage reusable task templates for consistent field execution."

## Template states

Each template has a status:

* **Active** — the template is available to be applied to jobs.
* **Inactive** — the template exists but is not applied to new jobs.

You can also **Duplicate** an existing template to use it as a starting point for a variation (for example, a residential version and a commercial version of the same job type).

## How templates connect to jobs

When a template is assigned to a job, its task list becomes the checklist that technicians see in the Servinix Go mobile app. Tasks appear in the order they were added to the template. Technicians check off each task as they complete it.

If a job requires tasks not covered by the assigned template, technicians can add individual tasks from the mobile app without modifying the underlying template.

## Template library

The Task Templates page includes a **Template Library** section. This is where templates you have created appear for selection, editing, and management.
