# Configure shifts

Create and manage shift schedules that define working days and hours for your organization. Shifts are used by teams for scheduling and attendance tracking.

## Before you start

* You must have an Admin role.
* Go to **Settings → Shifts**.

The shifts list shows each shift's **SHIFT NAME**, **WEEK STARTS**, **WORKING DAYS**, **TIMINGS**, **LAST UPDATED**, and **ACTIONS**.

A default shift (Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, week starting Monday) is created automatically when your account is set up.

## Steps

### Create a new shift

1. Click **Add Shift**.
2. Enter a shift name in the dialog.
3. Select the day the work week starts (e.g., Monday).
4. Choose the working days for this shift (e.g., Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri).
5. Set the start and end times for each working day.
6. Save the shift.

### Find a shift

7. Use **Search shifts by name...** to filter the list.

### Edit a shift

8. Find the shift in the list and click the edit action in the **ACTIONS** column.
9. Update the name, week start day, working days, or timings.
10. Save.

### Delete a shift

11. In the **ACTIONS** column, select the delete option for the shift.
12. Confirm the deletion.

> **Note:** The default shift cannot be left unassigned. Assign a replacement shift to any teams using a shift before deleting it.

### Export shifts

13. Click **Export** to download the shifts list.

## Result / verify

* The new shift appears in the list with the correct working days and timings.
* Teams assigned to this shift use it for scheduling and attendance.

## Troubleshooting

* **Shift not appearing for a team** — Open Settings → Teams and verify the team is assigned to the correct shift.
* **Attendance not tracking** — Confirm that team members are assigned to a shift and that the shift covers the current day.
